I changed the axles in my '72 to a set of 4.10's with disc brakes from a '75, and everything went great! I replaced the master, some of the brake lines, and everything is working! However, the disc brake hardware kit came with a little clip, referred to by some as an anti-rattle clip.

I couldn't figure out how to install it, so I left it out. Big mistake apparently. The pads on the front rattle around making a clicking noise. As soon as a little brake pressure is applied, the noise stops. I jacked up the front, and spun the tires to confirm the problem.

The question is, where does one install this little clip? On the inside pad, outside pad, the caliper somehow? I did a search that yielded nothing, so any pointers in the right direction would be great. I have a manual, but it's for the '72 series (drum brakes).

So, the info isn't in there. It could be the pads being loose in the caliper, but you should also check if the caliper is actuall loose. That is caused by the spring clip that actually holds the caliper tight on the bracket. It is the flat piece of steel that gets wedged under the caliper and then you put the allen head bolt in to hold it.
