Depending on the year and model the location will vary. A common location on FIS models is between the LH rear upper A-Arm mouning tabs.
Solid rear axle models have the vin number located on the upper frame support tube just under the fender. Depending on model and year this can be located on either the LH or RH side of the frame. The horizontal tube behind the front bumper is another possible location to look.
This location is used primarily on machines under 400cc. Prowler: The VIN number is stamped in the frame on the center of the cross tube that runs just under the tailgate. There is also a decal placed on the frame support tube inside of the LH front tire. Wildcat: The VIN number is stamped on the support tube inside the LH front tire. There is also a decal that contains the VIN number in this same area. Real or not it sure is sexy One thing to look at is holes in the tunnel for the Z seat snaps. With the stripe down the tunnel you can either run you finger down it and feel for the holes or look on the inside for any evidence of seat snap holes. Another place to look for holes is where the tail light would have been mounted on a Z. Now if they aren't there that could simply mean they were filled it but its something to look for.
It's hard to tell from the pics but does this sled have offset steering? That also isn't a tell tale sign either way but offset steering would likely point to either a sno pro or at worst a 77 Z.
