Amplitube Metal Presets

Amplitube Metal vs Guitar Rig 5 Got an email advertising Amplitube Metal for $40, so I purchased. I already have Guitar Rig 5. I am a bit disappointed in Amplitube Metal. The low end sounds muddy on all of the presets, I compared similar amp models from both and Guitar Rig sounded far better (imo). I also have TH2 and play with it every now and then, it seems to sound ok, but Guitar Rig sounds so good and is so easy to use, it seems to be my go to amp sim. Also downloaded a bunch of the Poulan amp sims, can't seem to get them to work correctly.

Also purchased the MarkBass bass amp pack, and again, Guitar Rig bass is limited number of bass amp sims, bit it sounds great. MarkBass is cool, many amps to choose from, easy to use. But I still seem to go to Guitar Rig for the bass amp as well. Just thought I would post.

I wish I would have seen a post like this one, may have saved me some money. Just saying that Guitar Rig (imo) sound great and is really easy to use, and is really the only amp sim that I need. I'd try them all - if there are demos available. I'm afraid that people like what they like and it's hard to suggest the 'best'. It's too personal and subjective.

You just end up gettting a list. That's useful, as you can go through it but it won't answer the question of 'the best'. Usually one leaps out at you (like GR5 has to you) but I would also say that you need to take your time on some others.

They really suit going through the chain within the software and may take a bit longer. A lot people layer the sounds and double track and use other techniques to make their tone sound crisp and huge. Download presets others have made too. Some people are very good at that sort of thing.

Listen to others using different software. There's no rush and you can purchase others when they are sale over time. Everything goes on sale. Knock them off one by one. Who buys just one? Buy them all I say! Oh and buy S-Gear (Scuffham Amps).

No need to demo that - it's marvellous - albeit a bit basic at the moment in terms of bells and whistles. Glyn Barnes chuckebaby im also in favor of guitar rig,its interface seems a little clear to me VS amplitude. Another 'go figure'. I find GR's interface clear as mud! The signal paths and modules in Amplitube make far more sense to me. Both are great bit of software but I really need to sit down and figure GR5 out if I am to progress beyond the presets. Ya,im willing to meet you half way on that man.:) i think as much could be said for me sitting down and learning a little bit more about amplitude.

Amplitube

I do agree with you about the signal paths. Heres what i think happens Glyn,we become compfortable with a plug in and digest it more and learn more about that plug in.

Where as amplitude lists a lot of there amps in catagorys,in GR there cats like, 'classic rock, jazz, metal and those sub catagory's but because there always open and in front of you there easier to peel through looking for that right sound for the song. But amplitude has some features that i like even more than guitar rig,and you know it is just personal taste here with me.

For TH2,i havent really sat down and learned about it much so i shy away from it.i rarely ever use it. I think all 3 of these have really good tones, and ive also heard softubes metal amp room and vintage room are quite nice. My guitarist bought the package(vintage, metal and bass).they have some great sounds.

But for bass, mark bass all the way here.what a kicken plug. Glyn Barnes chuckebaby im also in favor of guitar rig,its interface seems a little clear to me VS amplitude. Another 'go figure'.

Vocaloid 4 free download. I always thought GR's Rack model made a reasonable amount of sense. It only gets ugly if you want to start splitting the signal. The interface that really annoys me is TH2. Partly because of the clunky patch management, and partly because of the signal flow.
